This is what happened at Saturday's Repair Café:
Andy sharpened a dozen garden tools. Jennie glued several camel-riding Santa's plus a couple of giraffes and a soap stone hippo. Peter cracked the mystery of a broken barometer, a clock, soldered connections on a garage key fob and a star projector. Sadly, Thomas the Tank engine had a burnt out motor.
Steve fixed a fan, cleaned up kettle connections and a wall clock. John sorted out an extension lead and PAT tested electricals, plus tightened new bolts on a table football game. Gary fashioned an axle for a ceramic moped ornament, replaced screws in spectacles, fixed a pin badge and a small fruit knife blade. Sarah spent time showing people round their sewing machines, diagnosing, doing some maintenance and fixing where possible. Reesha hand sewed ripped coat seams, skirt elastic, replaced a coat rivet popper. Sue altered straps on two dresses, and a pair of trousers.
Albert and Alex kept the admin in order. Margaret & Vivienne served the coffees with amazing smiles and style.
