Remembrance Sunday

1st November 2021: Jenni Torpey
Back home  /  News  /  Remembrance Sunday

In two weeks' time, on November 14th, it is Remembrance Sunday. Most of us wear a Red poppy – a Symbol of Remembrance and Hope, to commemorate the people who sacrificed their lives in the First World War, and conflicts following that war. You might also like to wear a White poppy for Peace:

  • To remember ALL Victims of War (today, over 90% of people killed in warfare are civilians).
  • To Challenge Militarism.
  • To Build a Culture of Peace.

I shall have some available to buy in the Welcome Space before and after the service for the next couple of weeks, if you would like to buy one. They are £1 each or an extra donation to the Peace Pledge Union.
