Re Richard

We are pleased to announce, for those who have not yet heard, Circuit Meeting agreed, earlier this month, to invite Richard to remain as our Superintendent Minister. This means he will be staying in the Circuit until at least 2029.

This week, Richard wonders if YOU can help...

WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN?

There are two Zoom groups that meet each week to reflect on faith and the Biblical narrative. No prior knowledge is needed, all questions are dealt with, no need to be at every session.

One group meets on a Tuesday at 7.30pm, and the other on Thursday at 2pm, both on Zoom. I can help people connect if needed; it is quite simple.

You could join your preferred group immediately or when they move onto something new. I can put you in touch with existing members for thoughts on what it is like.

CAN YOU HELP?

We are looking to run a Christianity Explored course which is a helpful, non-threatening, introduction to the Christian faith using Mark's gospel as a guide. Each week there is a clip to watch and some points for the participants to ponder. I am hoping there might be people to help with publicity and to run the course. I will endeavour to be there but need a willing helper; the materials are such that no 'expertise' is required. I can let you have a look.

We are still looking for new Church Stewards to help ensure Sundays run well, and to be a group who reflect on some aspects of church life. If we had eight, it would mean duties about once a month, an occasional stewards' meeting and a seat on Church Council. One of the existing team will offer thoughts if requested

WE ALWAYS NEED FOLK WILLING TO HELP WITH:

  • Looking after the property.
  • Staffing the Welcome Space café.
  • Our pastoral work. You would have a small group to relate to, letting Richard know of any issues that we need to pick up on.

It would really be helpful to find a Pastoral Leaderwho would allocate new folk to pastoral groups, find new pastoral helpers, and liaise with Richard about the pastoral life of the church.

It would also be good to have someone willing to be the person who takes new folk under their wing, or finds others to help with this important responsibility.

Or it would be really good if folk came and said"These are my gifts – how can I help?"

Where appropriate, training will be given.

Building our faith and serving the church are both key callings.

How can the Church help You and how can You help the Church?

Blessings,
Richard.
