Having trekked the whole length of the east coast up to the Orkneys and Shetland, and the whole of the south coast to Land's End, our church steward Derek Adams has now turned the corner and is heading up the west coast.
En route he visited the RNLI station at Sennen Cove, who posted this on the Derek Trek's Britain Facebook page:
"We were privileged to meet this incredible gentleman who paid us a visit at Sennen Cove lifeboat station today. Derek Adams is 80 and aiming to walk around the coastline of Great Britain, covering 5,000 miles! He'll be doing this one month at a time over the 5 years leading up to his 85th birthday. As he walks the coastline he is hoping to visit every lifeboat station and raise money for the RNLI , Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.
"Here he is (see opposite) with Mechanic Richard Brown, Second Coxswain Dan Shannon, Coxswain Ollie George and ILB Helm/ Relief Mechanic Nick Hichens
"We were left with nothing but admiration for Derek's enthusiasm, strength and determination to complete his challenge. We wish him well.
