Having walked the 250 miles in the summer from Lee-on-Solent on the south coast, to Caister-on-Sea on the east coast, 80-year-old AMC member Derek Adans is now on the second leg of his sponsored walk around the coast of Britain. Starting where he left off at Caister in Norfolk, he is now heading north, calling on all the RNLI lifeboat houses enroute. Derek's wife Sue said that he was in the Boston area of Lincolnshire at the weekend and was battling heavy rain.
He is staying overnight with friends, family and at heavily discounted Travel Lodges. The latter is in return for him adding this year's Travel Lodge charity, The British Heart Foundation, to his existing duo of the RNLI and the NHS.
