The Monday night food bank has steadily got busier as the cost of living crisis continues to affect so many.
We have increased the number of volunteers on duty each evening to manage the increase but are always looking for more volunteers. We provide not only food parcels to those in need but we also offer a safe place for people to visit and meet with others while enjoying a hot drink and light refreshments. Many visitors tell us how important the evening is to them. They talk about isolation and the difficulties they face. They also share experiences and offer help, advice and support to each other as well as receiving support from the team.
Run entirely on volunteers, this Monday, one of the visitors brought in a chocolate cake to say thank you to the volunteers saying "we want you all to know how much we appreciate what you do for us. You help us and we really appreciate the time you all give".
