3.000 Mile Trek

Being in the Outer Hebrides on the eighth leg of his charity fund-raising trek round the coast of Britain, church steward Derek Adams had to give his apologies for missing this week's church council meeting! During the week, the 81 year-old passed the 3,000 miles mark on his trek.

His island-hopping has been helped enormously by the generosity of Caledonian McBrane ferries and their wonderful staff. Like his 900 plus Facebook followers, local radio listeners and others, they have been captivated by Derek's plan to trek the whole of the British coast before he is 85. The map shows his progress before this currant leg.
