A Scottish Easter

16th April 2025: Peter Green
Back home  /  News  /  Scottish Easter

Instead of attending our own church's Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday services, our 82 years-old coast-trekking church steward Derek Adams, will be attending church services, 'somewhere in Scotland!' That is because he is already off on the ninth and final leg of his charity fund-raising trek around the coast of Britain. You may have heard him again this week on BBC Three Counties radio or Northampton radio.

He has hitch-hiked to Fort William, and is heading for the Kyle of Lockalsh, to start his trekking where he left off on the last leg. Derek writes, "A very big "Thank you" for your interest, support and sponsorship. Thus far WE, between us, have now raised over £10K.Please spread the word as I Trek north to Aith, northern most RNLI station, and the completion of my walk around our beautiful coastline. Now over half way to our target of £20k with 3690 miles walked to date, and less than 600 left for this final leg. Bless you."

If you would like to contribute to Derek's fund-raising for RNLI, BHF and Cancer Research Uk, click here for his Just Giving page.

We wish Derek God speed and a happy Easter. Whilst he cannot be at our Easter services, we invite you to any or all of them. Tap here for details.
