Supporting LGBTQ's

In a week that we have named our new Welcome Space as a place of belonging for all, we were saddened to read of the online abuse still experienced by so many of our friends in the LGBTQ — Lesbian, Gay. Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning — community. In a survey of 695 LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide, 73% of all respondents in all categories of gender identity and sexual orientation have been personally attacked or harassed online. As an inclusive church believing that God's love is for all people not just some, we are disappointed to hear this.

We can offer our own prayers of support to all who identify themselves as LGBTQ+. We pray for them as they seek to come to terms with who they are, with the anguish of when and to whom they can safely 'come out' and with the challenge of living rewarding and fulfilling lives and relationships. We wish them all a life of love, fun and inner peace.

On a practical note, VpnMentor have collated an article which details how they can stay safe online. It has useful advice on what they can do if they are a victim of cyberbullying. To see the article, click here.
