Money Walks!

2010_0102newyearwalk0048

A group of well-wrapped up members of AMC enjoyed the lovely walk planned by Roger Kirk, alongside the canal at Wilstone, thankfully free from the thick slippery mud of last year's walk! We soon warmed up in the bright winter sunshine, shared conversations with different people and lost no-one! We were all very happy to reach the warmth of the Hardern household and be waited on hand and foot by three of their lovely granddaughters — they are getting more experienced as the years go by and enjoy fetching and carrying for us all. We were joined here by a few non-walkers and we all appreciated the hospitality and delicious soups and sweets on offer. Many thanks to Roger and Sue and Kevin and Elaine for making it such a good ending to the year — having walked off our extra Christmas pounds we gained them again over lunch! Donations to Karibuni Children amounted to £137 — thank you everyone for your generous gifts.
