Peter Green: February 2019
By June 2019 the Methodist Conference requires all Methodist churches to produce either a Growth Plan or an end of life plan. We began our own Growth Plan in 2015 with the start of the Healthy Churches process. The October 2018 Church Council agreed, amongst other things, that we create our Growth Plan on the existing Healthy Churches framework. This is based on the seven marks or characteristics of healthy churches which are: Energised by faith | Outward-looking focus | Seeks to find out what God | wants | Faces the cost of change and growth | Operates as a community | Makes room for all | Does a few things and does them well.
The church council also agreed to give the congregation the opportunity to contribute suggestions to the Growth Plan. For these to be considered by the Leadership Team and included in time, can you please let us have them by Sunday 3rd March. Suggestions can be given to Rev. Helen Kirk via the church office or any steward or by email to: email@example.com. To see our Draft Growth Plan, .

We're told the Bible is the inspired word of God; then we read bits which are violent, disgusting or utterly weird. We're told it should fill us with joy and gratitude, only to encounter significant chunks that seem irrelevant, incomprehensible...
