January 18th to 25th is traditionally the Week of Prayer for Christian unity. The essence of the week is that there is more that unites the various Christian denominations than divides us. The church in Germany have written the material for this year's joint services and celebrations. As Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) say, " With the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germany experienced how a seemingly insurmountable wall could be brought down. The fall of this wall is a symbol of hope that, with the love of God, nothing is impossible."
