Strength and Stability classes for older adults or anyone concerned with their balance are held in our community centre on Wednesdays between 1 and 2pm. The classes are part of a national strategy to reduce the cost of falls to the NHS and the individual. The class involves some standing balance exercise behind a chair and seated strengthening exercises using a resistance band.
The sessions are run by Julie Aherne, a Level 4 Postural Stability Instructor with Later Life Training, who have a national coverage on falls prevention. To discuss someone's suitability for the classes or for more information, ring Julie beforehand on 07811897578.
