A National Anthem

Home » News » A National Anthem

In these troubled times, local preacher Ken Harris was moved to write this national or indeed global anthem, to the tune of God Save The Queen. Used as a prayer in the 28th July service at Aylesbury, it is reproduced here with Ken's permission:

An Anthem for the Nation

God heal our nation's soul,
guard it and make it whole;
God save us all.
May hope and love increase
and all injustice cease
till we become a land at peace.
God make us whole.

Guide us through hopeless days,
show us your loving ways;
God lead us all.
May we work hand in hand
with those from every land
who seek to follow your command.
God make us whole.

Your greatest gifts impart,
your love fill every heart;
God love us all.
May we gain honest wealth,
growing in inner health -
love You and neighbour as ourself.
God make us whole.
