Aylesbury Methodist
Youth Choir

Right then... Life just got really busy for me as a trainee teacher, but Ill do my best to keep this updated now we're back after the summer break.

Diary — 24th September in the morning, we're singing 'Creature Praise' at the church anniversary. Words and music below

Rutter's Candlelight Carol will feature during Christmas at some point during Christmas — Words and music below.

Have a look/listen to 'The Lord's Prayer' from David Fanshaw's 'African Sanctus' — guess what... words and music below. Well, almost. The punchy chorus bit is there which probably doesn't make a lot of sense on it's own, but have a listen any way. Not sure when this will make an appearance... but it will... so have a listen. In fact, I've just remembered I can Embed videos in the web page, so try THIS ONE. I will try to get the tune sorted for you — but it's really simple so perhaps the internet version will be enough?

See you all Wednesdays at 6.30pm Bring a friend.

Men

In the chorus, Alto and men sing slightly different words — try learning the music to 'la' before we put the words in. On the other hand, if your're feeling brave...

BASS CHORUS WORDS
Can — dle light, fi — er light and star-glow
Shine on His cradle 'till breaking of dawn.
Glor — ri a___ in___ ex — cel — sis Deo,
Angels are sing — ing the Christ child is born.

And for the Altos...
Can — dle light, AN — GEL light and star-glow
Shine on His cradle 'till breaking of dawn.
Glor — ri a___ Glor — ri a___ in___ ex — cel — sis Deo,
Angels are sing — ing the Christ child is born.

'Twill all become clear — but have a good listen to your part if possible as that will really help.

How do you capture the wind on the water?
How do you count all the stars in the sky?
How do you measure the love of a mother
Or how can you write down a baby's first cry?

Candlelight, angel light, firelight and star-glow
Shine on his cradle till breaking of dawn
Silent night, holy night, all is calm and all is bright
Angels are singing; the Christ child is born

Shepherds and wise men will kneel and adore him
Seraphim round him their vigil will keep
Nations proclaim him their Lord and their Saviour
But Mary will hold him and sing him to sleep

Candlelight, angel light, firelight and star-glow
Shine on his cradle till breaking of dawn
Silent night, holy night, all is calm and all is bright
Angels are singing; the Christ child is born

Find him at Bethlehem laid in a manger
Christ our Redeemer asleep in the hay
Godhead incarnate and hope of salvation
A child with his mother that first Christmas Day

Candlelight, angel light, firelight and star-glow
Shine on his cradle till breaking of dawn
Silent night, holy night, all is calm and all is bright
Angels are singing; the Christ child is born

The Lord's Prayer

Backing track
Soprano chorus)
Alto chorus
Tenor chorus
Bass chorus

Our Father, who art — who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,
On Earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us, forgive our sins,
As we forgive the sins of them
Who sin against us.

(suddenly puchy..)
Lead us not into temptation, but, deliver us
From evil, for Thine is the kingdom — the kingdom!
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us
From evil, for Thine is the glory!

BUT the men sing...
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil...
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory!

(calmer again...)
Our Father, who art, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,
On Earth as it is in heaven...

Sops & Altos ...on earth, as it is in heaven.
Tenor & Bass Thy Kingdom come as it is in heaven.
