Sister Act

Theatre Visit. 93 members and friends from the Aylesbury Church went in two coaches to see the divine musical comedy Sister Act at London's Palladium theatre. It was part of the Fund-raising Team's programme of events to raise £120,000 towards the £1 million cost of the community centre project.

Proceeds from the event bring the team to within £1,000 of reaching their target. Fund-Raising Chair Tony Noble has announced that despite almost reaching their goal, the team would carry on till the end of the year with the rest of their programme.

Tony explained, "The programme is already arranged and we can use the money for other aspects of the church's work. The team felt strongly that our [fund-raising activities for the centre] have detracted us from giving to charities we had hoped to support. We can help to put this right in the coming months." Three organisations they particularly had in mind were the Methodist Church's Missions Department, the Karibuni Trust and Action for Children.
