‘Come with me to a quiet place and get some rest’
Silence is not the absence of the word but the
Presence of God
WEDNESDAY 28th SEPTEMBER
10am-12 noon
WEEDON METHODIST CHURCH
GUEST SPEAKER, JANET BAILEY
THEME, ‘WATER FOR LIFE’

What better way to spend precious time than to be in a beautiful place in the presence of God?
We begin with prayer, followed by a short gentle talk by an invited speaker, after which time is spent in quietness, either by staying in the church or having a walk round the village and perhaps sitting by the village pond and marvelling at the wonders of nature, all created by God’s loving hand.
This silence helps us to think about ways of developing our faith and deepening our experience of prayer.
Maybe, reading a book or just sitting in the garden, whatever way we choose to spend the quiet time we know we are very close to God.
We come back together again in church for prayers and reflections, then perhaps have a packed lunch in the garden.
This is a truly blessed and creative time which enables us to rest in the presence of God, to grow and reflect and to find peace.
Come with us to the quiet garden. Coffee and tea are provided and you are welcome to stay for the afternoon.
