Aylesbury Vale Methodist Circuit

Channelling God’s love for all people

New Circuit - Aylesbury Vale

Aylesbury Vale Methodist Circuit came into being at 7.30pm on Wednesday 30 August 2006 at a Circuit Service at Stewkley Methodist Church, seen on the left. The service welcomed Rev Jim Gorringe who will look after churches at Cheddington, Stewkley, Stoke Hammond and Swanbourne. Jim was formerly Superintendent minister in Bedford.

Also welcomed at the service was Rev. Penelope Wilcock who is relocating in Aylesbury as a Minister Without Appointment.  The service was led by Circuit staff and the sermon given by Rev Alison Tomlin, Chair of the new Northampton District to which we now all belong.

The new Circuit comprises part of the old Leighton Buzzard and Stewkley Circuit and the old Aylesbury Circuit.

Rev. David Jenkins, Aylesbury Vale's Superintendent Minister
(pictured right) said, 'For those of us in the current Aylesbury Circuit there will not be the same mixed emotions of our new friends from the Leighton Buzzard and Stewkley Circuit, where, as that Circuit divides on county boundary lines, relationships established over many years will be affected.  We feel for our new friends in the transition they will be going through and assure them of our own warm welcome.  Together we look forward to engaging in the challenging work in front of us in our new Circuit.'
