Homeless Research

Volunteer members of the Aylesbury Homeless Action Group (AHAG) plan doing a one-off investigation into rough sleepers in the town. The aim is to go out with soup and hot drinks and look for rough sleepers to help assess the size of the problem and see if there any further ways the group can help.
AHAG is an ecumenical group from various churches in the town. Their Hub day centre is based at Aylesbury Methodist's community centre in Buckingham Street.
The Hub's manager Sylvia Browning said that at the centre they have had two to eight people in each day with a cross section of ages. The centre offers somewhere safe for a drink, a chat and support in where to go for help. They have also assisted clients with some form filling where necessary regarding job and benefit applications.
A donation from Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust was delivered to the Hub by their Human Resources Adviser Sue Kitching.

The Hub is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am to 2pm.
