David Jenkins New CD

Following his highly acclaimed concert to a packed audience in his Aylesbury Methodist Church in October 2007, David Jenkins has now produced a CD of the music he played and sang there. All the proceeds will go towards the £1 million cost of the church's community centre project.*

Entitled ‘A Musical Autobiography’, the CD was the result of pressure from his church members. Pauline Noble, a member of the Fund Raising Team said, “His stunning performance in concert at our church last year prompted us to ask him to make a recording of the music he sang and played so wonderfully. David is a highly talented composer and performer, an accomplished pianist with an excellent voice who sings with great sensitivity and feeling. On several tracks he is joined by Paula Lewis who adds her own depth and feeling to the songs.

This is a great opportunity for the many who enjoy listening to David, and for those who have not been lucky enough to attend one of his concerts."

There are 25 tracks which include his own compositions and classical, jazz, folk, show and Beatles music.

*The community centre is used by over 30 user groups catering from the youngest to the oldest. They include Aylesbury Child Contact Centre, Youth @ ACT, and a Day Care Centre.  Following a £325,000 Big Lottery Fund grant, it is now hoped to have a contractor on site next month (June 2008) and complete the project by Easter 2009. The 30 groups are being helped to meet in the church itself or in short-term alternative accommodation.
