Christmas Cards 2009
The Cards for Good Causes charity Christmas card shop will be open in Aylesbury Methodist Church on Buckingham Street from Thursday 5th November to Saturday 19th December between 10am and 4pm every weekday and Saturdays.
The shop is part of a national network of 350 temporary shops set up in churches, libraries and community centres and they help over 320 local and national charities.
Cliff Darlington (left) is the Aylesbury manager who runs the shop with the help of 100 volunteers from churches and charities in the area. "What gives me a buzz", said Cliff, "is that at the end of the day, after all the hard work with the help of the volunteers, we sell over £25,000 worth of charity Christmas cards. As this is the 50th anniversary, it would be nice to do especially well this year."
