Are you deaf?

Important for deaf people, the Aylesbury Coffee Morning Club was reformed in 1995 by Helen Salomone. She has been running it ever since. Its aim is for the deaf to meet up to meet together for relaxation and chats. It is mainly for the retired, unemployed and lonely people .

It now meets on alternate Tuesdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Aylesbury Methodist community centre.  This is behind the Methodist Church in Buckingham Street, and has just had a £1 million revamp.

The club is independent and those who want to know about deaf awareness or improve their sign language are welcome. It is financed from fortnightly raffles and donations which help towards the cost of room hire, coach outings and annual Christmas lunch.

A free basic Sign Language course is being run at the centre starting in October 2009. For more details, see the User Group page or click here to ask for more information.
